As with any industry, synthetic turf products vary, so take time to compare their attributes as well as the company that manufactures them.
Ask about face weights, stitch rates, nylon thatch percentages, backings, infill options and test results. Get samples so you can compare and contrast. Indicate your specific needs, as backings and other aspects of the turf differ depending on use (for example, some types of less expensive backing do not qualify for use on sports fields).
If possible visit completed installations or contact customers who’ve used products you’re considering. Ask about yarn technology; great advancements have been made since the days of Astroturf, resulting in more natural, more durable products. Texas Custom Turf takes great pride in carrying only the most advanced yarns available on the market today.
Finally, do your homework on the company making the turf. How long have they been in business? Where is the turf produced? What is covered under warranty? etc.
